AI enhancement of IoT-enabled services

Besides the fact that AI has a lot of applications and potential, it is not that easy to spot where AI/ML can enhance the practical IoT system. This is especially true with LPWAN systems, where (smart) sensors generate realtively small amount of (typically) unlabelled data.

For practical IoT systems based on LPWAN (for example, smart infrastructure access and intrusion monitoring), we at Bitgear focus on applying AI/ML at two levels. Predictive maintenance of sensors network itself is one level, used to manage the massive number of sensors sending data and information that can be trusted upon. The other level is Service level, which enhance the usability of the system for end-users (for example: reduction of the false alarms yet maintaining the system sensitivity).
